Rigs and Gigs Green Policy Page

Customers and Ethics are at the heart of our business

We try to do this by focusing our goals around the triple bottom line of People, Planet and Profit. This allows us to achieve things for our local community in addition to financial gain for ourselves and our employees. We don't consider ourselves do-gooders, we like to do our best and implementing green and the ethical policies is simply the right thing to do.

We are firm believers in quality, not quantity and that is why we offer a personal, consistent, quality service to all of our customers. Ensuring that each single job runs perfectly is important to us, which is why agree with Mahatma Ghandi, when he said

"A customer is the most important visitor on our premises, he is not dependent on us. We are dependent on him. He is not an interruption in our work. He is the purpose of it. He is not an outsider in our business. He is part of it. We are not doing him a favor by serving him. He is doing us a favor by giving us an opportunity to do so." Mahatma Gandhi

We are very active locally in London and are currently exploring a range of ideas to generate social opportunities for our community.

  • We look for opportunities to create a win-win with all our clients
  • We look after our customers and there are no hidden extras in our charges
  • We offer a 50% price reduction to local businesses, charities, social and ethical enterprises
  • 25% of our profits this year will be invested into specific projects providing music mentoring and coaching opportunities for young people

Our Green Journey

As a PA and Sound System Hire company providing the sound at events it is not easy for us to contribute to the planet in a positive way. Al Gore’s film An Inconvenient Truth hit home. We have discovered that becoming a green company is not easy. Our whole economy is built around the burning of fossil fuel. As individuals the norm is not to bother. Thanks to the activism of a lot of people and high media coverage of the Stern report and Al Gore’s film attitudes are now changing. Our attitude is to therefore do as much as we can.

  • We purchase and upgrade sound system equipment such as amps and mixers rather than just going out and buying new equipment
  • We manufacture our loud speakers using Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) sustainable wood sources
  • We use recycle components supplied by specialist company Wembley Loudspeakers.
  • We always buy ethically and locally where possible and refuse to promote products that harm people or the planet
  • We Reduce, Re-use and Recycle policy whenever we can
